Following Jesus

Chasing after the unforeseeable future and quenching our cravings for earthy wants are our second nature. So, denouncing self is something to talk rather than act. Of a great many coveted desires consuming us everyday, how to maximize at a nominal cost strains our nerves the most. All those that couldn’t add benefit directly, or at least bring us aware of their values, are fall behind our concerns.

Little do we aware that all earthy attachments will be rotten one day. More correctly, our mortal beings might be the first to collapse into ashes. Jesus calls us today to follow him, in a way that we have to drop our nets, sell our belongings, and say farewell to our parents, just as what the disciples did. No relationship could be completed without God’s presence, and only through him that shall we be able to bridge the gap with others. When earth and sky pass away, his persisting love will never fade away.

Following him is a command, the one that we shouldn’t take lightly. Only those who obey follow, those obey believe. His words can be realized when we duly follow and submit.
